The Milk Situation

Our goats are ready to kid.  And that means milk is on its way. Yay for milk!  Can't wait for creamy, sweet, delicious, and nutritious milk!  We have been without milk for 2 months, and we are so anxious to drink it, and cook with it (creamiest alfredo sauces), and make our small batch, artisan cheeses like herbed chevre, cheese spreads and dips, mozzarella, hard cheeses, queso blanco, yogurt cheeses, and salad dressings, and oh my... so many yummy dairy products.

Since we want the best milk possible for ourselves, we believe that the healthiest animals produce the best tasting and the most nutritious foods, so we feed and supplement our animals with the best products we can find locally and over the internet.

When we only had two goats in milk, we had way more milk than we needed for just the two of us.  And that put us in a bind we called "The Milk Situation".  Over the next two months, we expect at have at least 4 or 5 goats in milk.

"The Milk Situation" = way more milk than we need at a cost that is way higher than can afford on an ongoing basis. We have been looking for a way to share our milk and our expenses.

So with the expectation of having lots of milk in the coming months, we are now offering herd shares.  This allows our friends to share in our top quality milk and artisan cheeses while helping us afford the best feed and care for the animals.  When you sign up for herd shares with Cranky Pants Ranch, my win is your win, right?
